Talent eyes fiber optic Internet TALENT - All residents within the city limits could have the opportunity to sign up for high-speed Internet access by 2005 if the City Council approves a franchise agreement with Hunter Communications.
· ANNUAL SKI SWAP AT SOU will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday in the lower level of Stevenson Union Arena. Used gear may be registered from noon to 9 p.m. today, tomorrow, and Friday at the SU and checks may be picked up between 4 and 8 p.m. November 14. SOU will retain 15 percent of the sales. · RECYCLED ART will be created from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Room 102 of the SOU Art Building for the November 15 Recycled and Found Art Show at SOU. Some materials will be provided but all are encouraged to bring their own recycled materials to create mosaics, paper, paintings, beadwork, clothing, sculpture - anything. · POEMS SOUGHT FROM ASHLAND AREA POETS for a poetry contest sponsored by Celestial Arts in Talent. A $1,000 grand prize is offered to the winner with a poem of 21 lines or less. Poems should be sent to Celestial Arts, P.O. Box 1140, Talent, Ore. 97540; the deadline is November 17. The poet's name and address should appear on the page with the poem. A winners list will be sent to all entrants.

· ANNUAL BEAR KNITTING PROJECT will be sponsored by the Web·sters to benefit the Dunn House.
