'Creepy Carnival' comes to town

A three-day Haunted House for kids 14 and younger will be held at the Elks Lodge, 255 E. Main St., from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday — after the Children's Halloween Parade.

A suggested $2 donation will benefit the lodge's fund for youth activities and sports teams in the valley.

"This is a fun and safe activity for kids that directly benefits supports youth activities here in the Rogue Valley. Anyone who came last year knows it's a great time for a great cause!" event coordinator Criss Garcia said.

All three nights will feature a "ringmaster" escort to accompany children, as they tip-toe through a carnival midway of surprises including haunted marionettes, fortune-telling gypsies and sideshow freaks.

"Come see the hidden wonders of the world, marvels never seen before, fascinating creatures so terrifying they defy description," Garcia said. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you anyway, so bring the family — if you dare!"
