AHS students serve the needy

On Tuesday afternoon, students from the Ashland High School cooking class gathered at the Uncle Food's Diner to cook for the needy.

At 2:45 p.m., a construction crew cut the main water line to Wesley Hall, as the cooking class was in the middle of prep work. The construction crew dropped everything to get the water back on. In 30 minutes, the water was back on.

The string orchestra of AHS arrived to play while patrons ate.

Some of the diners were AHS students who eat at Uncle Food's each week. They had friends in the classes serving food and playing music.

The event was a collaboration between Peace House, Uncle Food's, volunteers and the First United Methodist Church of Ashland.
