Ashland Police & Fire Reports

Friday, 12:24 a.m. &

Unknown subjects placed a cardboard box filled with feces on the front porch of a residence on Wightman St, and lit the box on fire. The fire charred the cement porch, but caused no damage to the structure.

Friday, 8:18 a.m. &

High school administration reported they found a 12-year-old boy in possession of marijuana at the football game. The boy was cited and released to his mother on the above listed charge. Referred to Juvenile Division.

Friday, 10:42 p.m.- Officer were dispatched to a reported hit and run that occurred near the Plaza, 55 Winburn Way. When officers arrived they were directed by witnesses to the suspect vehicle and it's driver. While being questioned about the accident, the suspect showed signs of impairment, bloodshot water eyes and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath as he spoke. He consented to standardized field sobriety tests and showed impairment. The suspect was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants, failure to perform the duties of a driver (hit and run) and reckless driving. He was transported to the Ashland Police Dept. where he submitted to a breath test. The result was a .18% blood alcohol concentration.

Between Friday, 9:30 p.m. and Saturday, 7 a.m., an unknown suspect forced entry into the Ashland Racquet Club. The suspect then forced entry into three more interior doors and stole cash from the locked cash boxes.

Saturday, 7:45 p.m. &

Police were dispatched to the report of a male too intoxicated to care for himself. When officers arrived they spoke with an adult male who was being held in a standing position by two concerned citizens. The male was visibly intoxicated and was taken into protective custody and transported to detox where he was lodged.

Monday, 9:28 a.m. &

A fourteen-year-old female made a disclosure of sexual assault to a mandatory reporter.

Monday, 9:50 a.m. &

A man was stopped for traffic violations. He had a suspended driver's license and no insurance and his vehicle was towed by Dick's Towing.

Monday, 10:58 a.m. &


1 was east bound on Siskiyou Blvd, when she was side swiped by Driver

2. Driver

2 was on a bike and was transported to Ashland Community Hospital. Driver

2 was cited for unsafe lane change.

Monday, 5:39 p.m. &

Officers responded to meet a man at his apartment. The man reported that his car was stolen. This appeared initially to be a legitimate report, but the vehicle was later found and police found that no crime had been committed.
