Ashland Police & Fire Reports

Thursday, 12:39 a.m. — Ashland Police assisted Talent and Phoenix police with an intoxicated male who wanted to kill himself.

Wednesday, 6:22 p.m. - Police received a DHS report of possible child neglect of a 15 year old.

Wednesday, 5 p.m. - Someone found a black male pug with no ID wandering around the Buckhorn Springs area above Emigrant Lake. The dog was transported to the Jackson County Animal Shelter.

Wednesday, 3:13 p.m. - A shoplifter at Market of Choice was cited for theft and minor in possession of alcohol and released.

Wednesday, 2:37 p.m. - Someone turned in a beige fabric wallet found in the parking lot of Umpqua Bank.

Wednesday, 2:30 p.m. - Police arrested a man for criminal trespass in the 200 block of Catalina Drive.

Wednesday, 2:02 p.m. - Police responded to a traffic accident. A driver was eastbound on East Main Street when a second driver turned left off Fourth Street and struck the first driver. The second driver was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.

Wednesday, 12:07 p.m. - Someone threw a rock through a section of window of the GSD lounge on the SOU campus sometime between 11:15 a.m. and noon Wednesday.

Wednesday, 11:42 a.m. - Someone stole an iPod from a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Tucker Street on Tuesday.

Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. - Police responded to a traffic accident. A driver was making a left turn off Grant Street and pulled out in front of a driver on N. Main Street. The second driver swerved and the two vehicles collided, with the second vehicle rolling onto its left side. The first driver was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.

Wednesday, 10:29 a.m. - Police tagged as abandoned a black Honda Prelude in the first block of Van Ness Avenue.

Wednesday, 10:17 a.m. - Police tagged as abandoned a silver Nissan Axxess van near Fifth and C streets.

Wednesday, 9:35 a.m - An SOU Campus Public Safety Officer reported a theft of medication from the SOU Health Center.

Tuesday, 7:30 p.m. - Police served a man with a stalking citation stemming from several months of unwanted contact with the victim and her friends and family.

Friday, 6:31 p.m. - A juvenile shoplifted from Rite Aid and shoplifted several items from Safeway, including alcohol. The juvenile was also in possession of stolen items from JC Penney, Claire's and the Rogue Valley Mall and admitted to shoplifting them. The case is being referred to the Juvenile Department.
