Tuesday, 9:44 a.m. &

A driver was stopped for a traffic violation and did not have current insurance. The driver was cited and the vehicle was impounded.

Tuesday, 10:40 a.m. &

Police were dispatched to the report of a man with a warrant at the post office. The man was stopped driving a red Dodge Caravan at the intersection of Siskiyou Boulevard and Alida Streed. He was placed under arrest and transported and lodged at the Jackson County jail.

Tuesday, 1:18 p.m. &

Sometime during Monday night or Tuesday morning someone entered two vehicles belonging to a resident of the 100 block of Church Street. The person rummaged through a Volvo and exited the vehicle without taking anything. The same person entered a Suzuki Swift and stole about $1 in quarters.

Tuesday, 4:28 p.m. &

Someone entered a woman's vehicle parked on the 100 block of Church Street and stole about $1 in quarters from the center console.

Tuesday, 6:17 p.m. &

Police took the report of mail theft from the 100 block of High Street. Officers spoke with the resident who said that someone removed several items of mail containing checks from the mail box on her front porch between 2 p.m. on Friday and 7:40 a.m. on Tuesday. The resident had no additional information at the time.

Tuesday, 6:19 p.m. &

Officers responded to the 100 block of Church Street, where a resident said that during the night someone had entered his unlocked vehicle and rifled through the contents of the car. The owner also said that there were several pieces of mail that were left on the ground near his car that did not belong to him.

Tuesday, 9:05 p.m. &

A man reported the theft of his wife's gold Huffy three-speed woman's bicycle from outside Ivy Hall at the SOU campus.

Between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. today, Ashland Fire and Rescue responded to 16 emergency calls &

13 general medical calls, one public service assist and two motor vehicle collisions.
