Bates urges Ashlanders to vote for the meals tax

In an E-mail obtained by the Tidings, Sen. Alan Bates, D-Ashland, urges his constituents to vote for the renewal of the city's meals tax. Rather than expressing his personal reasons within the E-mail, Bates refers Ashlanders to a video of Rep. Peter Buckley, D-Ashland, explaining the history of the tax.

Below is the E-mail and video:

"I wanted to take a minute to tell those of you who live in Ashland why I support the meals tax. This youtube (sic) link explains it best. Please remember how much these tax revenues have helped us to develop our local parks.

Vote YES when you mail your ballot in! Thank you.

In health,

Senator Alan Bates"
