Ceremony ends Hiroshima-Nagasaki vigil

Ashland's annual Hiroshima-Nagasaki vigil continues until 7 p.m. in the Plaza.

This is the 27th year the public vigil has been held to commemorate the thousands of Japanese citizens who died in the nuclear blasts credited with ending World War II.

A closing ceremony will follow at 7 p.m. at Madeline Hill Park off Mountain Meadows Drive and Meadowlark Drive in Ashland. The location of this ceremony has been changed from earlier announcements, organizers said.
