Comments sought on economic development

The city of Ashland wants the public's opinion as it works to draft an economic development strategy.

People are invited to attend one of two open houses where they can learn about the progress that's been made so far on the economic development strategy, and voice their ideas and concerns in a relaxed setting.

The first open house is from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, in Pioneer Hall, 75 Winburn Way, across from Lithia Park.

The second open house is from 7 to 9 p.m. that day in the Ashland Community Center, 59 Winburn Way, also across from Lithia Park.

People who can't attend can learn about the economic development strategy and give their input online at

The website includes a questionnaire where people can offer input about what they want Ashland's economy to be like in the future.

They can read about draft economic development strategies, rank those strategies and say what steps they think are missing.
