County surveyor dies in car crash

Jackson County Surveyor Kerry Bradshaw died Sunday in a car crash around 5:30 p.m. on Wilson Road in Central Point.

Bradshaw was first elected Jackson County surveyor in 2008, and was re-elected in May to serve another four-year term. A Southern Oregon native, he had worked in Jackson County as an Oregon-licensed, professional land surveyor since 1986.

He also served on the Central Point School District.

"We are deeply saddened to hear this unfortunate news," Jackson County Administrator Danny Jordan said in a prepared statement.

Jordan described Bradshaw as "good-natured, easygoing, carefree, and a strong leader for Jackson County government and our residents."

No details were immediately available about the crash, but more information will be posted as it is known.
