Film aims to boost awareness of human trafficking

The 20-minute film "Chosen," about a rural Oregon girl who was recruited into sex trafficking by her boyfriend, will be shown Thursday at Ashland High School to help raise awareness of human trafficking.

The presentation will begin at 9:40 a.m. in the high school's Mountain Avenue Theatre, 201 S. Mountain Ave., Ashland.

The event is sponsored by the Interact Club, a high school club associated with Rotary International.

Faith Morse, of Oregonians Against Human Trafficking, and other local representatives will be on hand to speak about trafficking activity in Oregon and what can be done about it. The event is free and open to the community as well as the Ashland High School students.
