Grizzlies shine at Linfield camp

Mason Montgomery and Quaid Walters earned two all-camp nods at two positions and four more Ashland High football players garnered recognition at one position at the Wildcat Football Team Camp last week in McMinnville.

Montgomery secured all-camp honors for his play as a linebacker and offensive lineman, while Walters was an all-camp pick for his work as a wide receiver and defensive back.

Also gaining special recognition for the Grizzlies were junior quarterback Danial White, junior offensive linemen Nate Carver and Taylor Stone and sophomore Max Atteberry.

Forty-four Ashland players, including six freshmen, attended the camp. They had plenty of competition, as 400 prep players from across the northwest competed Thursday through Sunday at the Linfield campus.

Ashland also competed in the SOU Football Camp Passing League Tournament June 17-19. Led by RJ Atteberry, Jon Volz and Walters, Ashland finished in the top three at SOU.
