Kids can go to college this summer at SOU

Southern Oregon University Pre-College Youth Programs is now taking registrations for summer classes, Kids College and residential camps.

This summer Southern Oregon University is offering a variety of hands-on classes for youth, ages six through 18 on SOU's campus. Some of the classes offered are: On-Site Construction, Summer Ceramics and other art classes, College Prep Institute, Tech Week, Conservatory for Young Theatre Artists, Camelot Theatre, a variety of video classes, a high school journalism workshop and much more. Sherry Schreck's Shakespeare for Fun class will be offered for the 25th year and may be the last time that she will be coming down from Washington to teach. Space is still available in Sea Camp, a residential camp on the coast.

This year's Kids College day camp program for ages 8-12 offers 32 classes. The sessions are July 16-20, July 23-27, July 30-Aug. 3, and Aug. 6-10. There are options for morning sessions, afternoon sessions or both, a supervised lunch, and free before and after child care. Children can be dropped off at 8 a.m. and picked up at 5 p.m.

Southern Oregon University Pre-College Youth Programs is in its 27th year of providing classes and camps throughout the year.
