Margaret L. (Peggy) Roberts

Margaret L. (Peggy) Roberts, of Ashland, passed away at home on February 28, 2011.

Peggy was born April 8, 1922, to Ira and Mary (Mylin) Kreider, in Lancaster, Pa. She grew up and attended schools in Lancaster. She then served in the Marine Corps in World War II. She subsequently lived in Tustin, Calif., Port Angeles, Wash., and for the past 20 years, in Ashland.

Peggy was an avid world traveler. She loved gardening, her Pinochle group, the arts and was an accomplished painter and potter. She was active in community affairs and politics, always campaigning and writing letters to all levels of government.

She is survived by her daughter, Dixie L. (Renaldo) Spagnoletti, of Park City, Utah; grandchildren, Dominic Spagnoletti, of Park City, Utah, Georgia Edwards, of Lasqueti Island, BC, Courtney Edwards, of Victoria, BC; brother, Mervyn (Betty) Kreider; and sister, Dorothy (Robert) Reed. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles W. Edwards (Linda) Daniels; sister, Marian Tracy; brothers, Robert (Catherine) Kreider and John Wesley (Janet) Kreider.

Peggy chose not to have a memorial service. She will be

buried at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, in Point Loma,

Calif., with her beloved husband, Master Sargeant Charles W. Edwards, who died in Korea.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Ashland Hospice and Mt. View Retirement Center for their wonderful care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any hospice organization.
