New audience development manager named at OSF

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival has a new face in its audience development department. Bridget Sullivan, Audience Development Manager, joined the Festival in early July.

The department's primary focus is to bring to life OSF's vision and belief that the inclusion of diverse people, ideas, cultures, and traditions enriches both our insights into the work the festival presents on stage and people's relationships with each other.

Incoming artistic director Bill Rauch is working to develop the diversity of both the OSF company and its audiences. Among the plans afoot are more simultaneous Spanish translations of plays, a Festival Latino for summer 2008, and an increased number of Audience Development Getaway Weekends, which focus primarily on bringing diverse groups to OSF from Portland, Seattle and the Bay Area.

Sullivan's marketing, event management, and community and public relations experience spans more than 20 years. She lived in Atlanta, Ga. for 16 years, serving as a board member and event manager for the Southern Snow Seekers. She then moved her contracting business to Portland where she lived for three years before accepting her new position in Ashland.

While in Portland, Sullivan served on the board of the Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center and volunteered as the volunteer coordinator for the 2007 Earth Day Celebration, among other things. She also acted as an event producer, working on business-related events for adidas, Freightliner, Tektronix, Mentor Corporation and the National Sales Network, among others. She also worked on three Olympic Games for NBC Olympics, The Minute-Maid Company and The Coca-Cola Company.
