Police reports March 16

Friday 1:12 p.m. — Police found graffiti on two electrical boxes near Siskiyou Boulevard.

Friday 3:17 p.m. — Police cited a 22-year-old man for following too close after a fender bender on North Main and West Hersey streets.

Friday 4:07 p.m. — Police cited and released two men for not wearing helmets at the skate park.

Friday 5:52 p.m. — Police investigated a case of furnishing alcohol to minors on East Main Street.

Friday 8:02 p.m. — Police arrested a 46-year-old man for disorderly conduct and physical harassment and lodged him at the Jackson County Jail. He was standing in the center of the road attempting to get passersby to fight him, and kicked the leg of a motorcyclist as he attempted to drive around him.

Friday 9:56 p.m. — Police seized marijuana from a male juvenile during a traffic stop and cited him for unlawful possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

Friday 10:43 p.m. — Police impounded a vehicle at the corner of Oak Street and Clear Creek Drive after the driver was found to have no license or insurance.

Friday 11:40 p.m. — Police cited four 19-year-olds with possession of alcohol. Additionally, one 19-year-old woman was cited for furnishing alcohol to a minor by providing a place for minors to drink.

Saturday 11:02 a.m. — Police received a report of a found bike in the Ashland area. The bike had been stolen and abandoned over the summer, and the finder exercised finder's rights on Aug. 22, 2008. A woman claimed to be the original owner. After police weren't able to determine the proper owner of the bike, police took possession of the bike until someone can provide proper proof of ownership.

Saturday 2:39 p.m. — A police officer discovered a brown wallet in a patrol vehicle. The wallet had no identification, money, credit cards or anything else of value. It was turned into evidence.

Saturday 3:56 p.m. — Police cited and released a male juvenile for skateboarding in the downtown area near North Main and Granite streets.

Saturday 10:46 p.m. — Police found a case of beer while investigating a noise complaint on South Mountain Avenue. The beer was seized and destroyed.

Sunday 12:01 a.m. — Police cited and released a 23-year-old man for providing a place for minors to drink after an intoxicated 19-year-old woman who admitted to drinking there was found at his residence. Police cited and released the 19-year-old woman for possession of alcohol by consumption.

Sunday 12:50 a.m. — Police cited and released two juveniles for possession of alcohol near the Ashlander apartments on Siskiyou Boulevard.

Sunday 12:50 a.m. — Police cited a 19-year-old woman for furnishing alcohol to a minor by providing a place for minors to drink while investigating a noise complaint on Siskiyou Boulevard.

Sunday 1:19 a.m. — Police cited and released an 18-year-old man for possession of alcohol on Siskiyou Boulevard.

Sunday 1:24 a.m. — Police transported a man to detox after he was found passed out on the corner of East Main and Pioneer streets. The man was also cited for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption.

Sunday 2:10 a.m. — Police took a man into police protective custody and transported him to detox after he was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself on East Main and North Second streets.

Sunday 2:24 a.m. — Police arrested a 23-year-old man for trespassing after he broke down a gate on North Main Street, entered into the fenced private property, intentionally damaged a flower pot and a lawn ornament and tried to gain entry into the residence at various doors around the house. Additionally, he refused to obey lawful orders to stop by the police and fled. While police attempted to take the man into custody, he resisted and pulled away. He was arrested and lodged at the Jackson County Jail on multiple charges of criminal mischief, trespassing, attempted trespassing, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and interfering with a police officer.

Sunday 3:40 a.m. — Police found an HP laptop and several articles of clothing on the corner of North Second Street and Lithia Way. No owner identification was located.

Sunday 10:23 a.m. — A woman reported the theft of a textbook that occurred about a month ago after she loaned her algebra textbook to another woman and never received it back.

Sunday 10:28 a.m. — Police arrested a 25-year-old woman for menacing, disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing after investigating a report of a disorderly woman making threats to her neighbor on North Main Street.

Sunday 11:00 a.m. — A man reported the theft of his gun. The man was carrying it in a red backpack. While on the plaza, he sat the pack down to make a phone call, and the pack was missing when he returned. The man had a valid permit.

Sunday 4:15 p.m. — A 19-year-old man was arrested for strangulation, two counts of assault and four counts of harassment on Park Street.

Sunday 9:24 p.m. — Police took a man into protective custody on North Main Street and transported him to the Medford detox center.

Monday 4:21 a.m. — A man reported someone unlawfully entered his unlocked vehicle while it was parked on the roadside on Glenwood Drive. Nothing was taken from the truck.
