Police reports March 18

Wednesday 10:53 a.m. — Police cited and released a 66-year-old man for theft after he was caught shoplifting from BiMart.

Wednesday 11:11 a.m. — Police stopped a 31-year-old man on a registration-related violation in the area of Faith Avenue and Ashland Street, and found him to be driving while suspended and uninsured. He was cited and released.

Wednesday 11:33 a.m. — Police performed a confidential drug investigation in the Ashland area.

Wednesday 12:50 p.m. — The Department of Human Services notified police that they were investigating a case of possible child neglect in the 200 block of Maple Street. Officers later stood by while DHS removed a child from the custody of its mother.

Wednesday 1:27 p.m. — Three male juveniles ate at the Golden Dynasty restaurant, and left without paying for their food.

Wednesday 4:14 p.m. — Police cited and released a 25-year-old man for driving while suspended and providing false information to a police officer in the area of California and East Main streets.

Wednesday 9:12 p.m. — Police contacted a male juvenile who was in possession of several cans of been in the area of Helman and North Main streets. He was cited for minor in possession of alcohol.

Wednesday 9:49 p.m. — Police took a confidential report of sexual abuse in the Ashland area.

Thursday 12:38 a.m. — Police arrested a 22-year-old man after he was found to be in violation of his probation by being intoxicated in the 800 block of C Street.

Thursday 1:34 a.m. — A police officer contacted a highly intoxicated 23-year-old man on the sidewalk outside of Louie's Bar and Grill. During the officer's interaction, the man became angry and pushed the officer in the chest. He was arrested and lodged at Jackson County Jail on charges of disorderly conduct and harassment.

Thursday 2:36 a.m. — Police arrested a 29-year-old man after he trespassed into a residence in the 100 block of Sixth Street. He was lodged at Jackson County Jail.
