Police reports March 30

Friday 7:17 a.m. — Two female juveniles ran away from the Lithia Girls Home on Siskiyou Boulevard. Oregon Youth Authority probation officers sought to secure probation violation arrest warrants for each of the two girls.

Friday 1:33 p.m. — Police picked up a found dog at the Beanery on Walker Avenue and Ashland Street. The dog was a young reddish-brown female German Shepherd mix that was darting in and out of traffic near the business. There was no identification on the dog and I transported her to the Animal Shelter.

Friday 1:53 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a suspicious person in the Safeway parking lot. The case is inactive after police talked to the suspicious person.

Friday 2:27 p.m. — Police responded to a complaint of a phishing e-mail that was sent to a woman on Quincy Street. The woman provided personal information to the sender of the fraudulent e-mail, and her e-mail and credit card accounts were compromised. The case is currently under investigation.

Friday 11:55 p.m. — Police arrested a 39-year-old man for violation of a protection order on North Laurel and North Main streets.

Saturday 12:24 a.m. — An unknown person trespassed in the back yard of a residence on Iowa Street.

Saturday 2:39 a.m. — Police arrested a 41-year-old man for driving under the influence of intoxicants on North Second and B streets.

Saturday 9:04 a.m. — Police received a report of a stolen bicycle in the Ashland area. A green and purple tandem bike was stolen from a residence on Iowa Street. The bike was locked with a chain, but the lock was cut when the bike was stolen.

Saturday 10:47 a.m. — Police received a report of a runaway juvenile in the Ashland area.

Saturday 1:08 p.m. — Police received a report of a hit-and-run on B Street. There are currently no suspects or leads.

Saturday 3:29 a.m. — Police received a report of a dog bite on Jacquelyn Street. A male dog was later taken to Jackson County Animal Control.

Saturday 3:57 p.m. — Police were dispatched to the plaza island to pick up a found child's metal lunchbox filled with keepsakes and collectibles.

Saturday 4:38 p.m. — Police received a report of a burglary of an apartment in the Ashland area. At some point between Mar. 20 and Mar. 28, an unknown person unlawfully entered a residency by entering a screen door and ate food from the kitchen. No other items were reported missing or damaged.

Saturday 6:15 p.m. — Police arrested and female juvenile and lodged her at juvenile detention on two counts of theft in the second degree, and one count of theft in the third degree on Siskiyou Boulevard. Additionally, an investigation continues for an additional charge of theft in the first degree.

Saturday 11:59 p.m. — Police arrested a 28-year-old woman for violating probation while answering a disturbance call at the Ashlander apartments. Her probation officer placed a detainer on her, and she was lodged at Jackson County Jail.

Sunday 12:22 a.m. — Police transported a known individual to Rogue Valley Medical Center on a police hold.

Sunday 7:12 a.m. — Police received a report of harassment and trespassing on Harrison Street.

Sunday 11:42 a.m. — Police arrested a 61-year-old woman after she refused to leave Ashland Springs Hotel.

Sunday 3:13 p.m. — Police investigated a report of theft of services on Emerick Street. Police have suspect information, and the case is currently under investigation.

Sunday 8:28 p.m. — Police contacted three juveniles in the plaza reported to be intoxicated by an unknown caller. Two of the juveniles were cited for possession of alcohol, and the third was cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. All were returned home.

Sunday 10:10 p.m. — A woman reported her iPod stolen after she loaned it to a friend but was never returned. While taking the report, police found the suspect and recovered the iPod. Once the iPod was recovered, the woman dropped charges.
