Police reports May 22

Thursday 9:59 a.m. — Police and Ashland Fire & Rescue were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision involving a bicyclist near the intersection of Siskiyou Boulevard and Walker Avenue. The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old man, was cited and released on charges of failing to yield the right-of-way to a bicycle in a bike lane, driving uninsured, failing to register his vehicle, and for giving false information to a police officer regarding liability insurance. The bicyclist was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle for non life-threatening injuries.

Thursday 10:32 a.m. — A known person turned in a wallet found in the 200 block of Lithia Way. The item was stored in police lost and found, and the owner will be notified via mail.

Thursday 11:40 a.m. — Police arrested a 25-year-old man in the first block of Garfield Street for failure to appear in court on an original charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was lodged at Jackson County Jail.

Thursday 4:11 p.m. — An unknown person intentionally scratched the windshield of a parked car sometime Wednesday night in the 400 block of Wightman Street.

Thursday 6:00 p.m. — Police received a confidential report of possible child abuse in the Ashland area.

Thursday 7:40 p.m. — Police received a report of a runaway juvenile from the 200 block of Tolman Creek Road.

Friday 12:29 a.m. — Police arrested a 43-year-old man for driving under the influence of intoxicants at Skidmore and North Main streets.

Friday 12:57 a.m. — Police arrested a 57-year-old man for driving under the influence of intoxicants after he was found to be too impaired to operate a motor vehicle in the first block of North Main Street. He was transported to the police station where he was cited and released.

Friday 1:35 a.m. — A man reported that an unknown person vandalized a parked vehicle at 7-Eleven in the 1200 block of Siskiyou Boulevard.

Friday 2:27 a.m. — Police arrested a 20-year-old male for driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and misrepresentation of age by a minor near the intersection of North Main and Glenn streets. The male was also cited for being a minor in possession of alcohol and for entering into a licensed premise. He was transported to the police station where he was cited and released.
