S. Oregon women ousted from tournament

Felicity Jones scored a season-high 23 points, leading No. 20 College of Idaho to a 75-60 victory over Southern Oregon in the quarterfinals of the 2012 Cascade Conference tournament.

After the Raiders (14-16) used a 6-0 run late in the first half to cut a C of I lead to 23-21, Tina Fakahafua hit a 3-pointer as the shot clock expired to start a 10-2 run in the final two minutes that gave the hosts a 10-point lead at the break.

The Coyotes (20-8) kept SOU at bay in the second half, as the lead remained between 10 and 14 points throughout the period. College of Idaho made a season high 30 of 38 free throws, including 24 of 30 after the break.

For the Coyotes, Fakahafua had her second straight double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Katelin Shannon added 11 points.

Cassandra Tiggett logged a career-high 24 points for the Raiders, while RaTanya Newsome added 11.

The Lady Yotes will play host to No. 25 Eastern Oregon in the tournament semifinals at 7 p.m. Friday.
