Make no bones about it: Valerie Allen sure knows her doggy treats.
Allen is the co-owner of Boney's Bonez, a local business that specializes in mouthwatering delicacies for the canine appetite.
Allen sells beef trachea, tendons, ribs, full femurs, lamb shoulders, pork femur, and a variety of fresh biscuits made of cheese, carrots, oatmeal, lamb and rice.
Boney's Bonez product ingredients are natural and organic and do not contain any added salt, preservatives, or hormones, according to Allen. All of the products are smoked and packaged in a facility in Eagle Point, and sold in several local stores including Shop'N Kart and Ray's Food Place.
But for Allen, the most enjoyable part of the job is not the business, it's the interaction with the buyers.
"You get to hear a lot of the success stories, and see the dogs," Allen said. "It's just a great feeling."
