SOU works overtime to sneak past Corban

The Southern Oregon men's basketball team overcame 15 3-pointers by Corban to score a 97-90 Cascade Conference overtime victory Friday at McNeal Pavilion.

Kyle Tedder and Jordan Highland led the attack for the Raiders (13-9, 6-6 CC).

Tedder tallied 26 points and four 3-pointers. Highland finished with 24 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Dex Daum came off the bench for 15 points.

For Corban (14-10, 4-8), Jordan Carter and Ian Logan each had 20 points.

Following an 83-83 tie after regulation, Tedder scored five of SOU's first seven points for a 90-83 lead in the extra session. Corban didn't get closer than five points thereafter.

Corban started out on fire, making 9 of 15 shots from 3-point range (60 percent) in the first half to hold a 47-42 halftime lead.

The Raiders took their first lead of the second half, 64-63, with 10:15 to play on layup by Highland. A dunk by Highland and a 3-pointer by Joe White gave SOU a 78-73 lead with just under four minutes to play.

Corban came back and tied it at 78, and neither team led by more than three for the rest of regulation.

SOU hosts Northwest Christian at 7:30 tonight.
