The 'O' Zone

I found this image while looking through the Ozone archives.

This is Columbus Circle in New York City, located adjacent to one of the main entrances to Central Park and is located at the ends of Central Park South and Central Park West. This is the point at which distances to and from New York City are officially measured.

As an artist I was delighted to see people sitting under the sculptures and the fountain. I captured this image because the artist apparently knew exactly where people would sit according to the placement of the sculpture.

The monument consists of a marble statue of Columbus atop a 70-foot granite column decorated with bronze reliefs representing Columbus' ships: the Ni&

195;3/8a, the Pinta, and the Santa Mar&

173;a. Its pedestal features an angel holding a globe.

See you soon
