The Starlings at Stillwater

Seattle roots-country outfit The Starlings will play Saturday at Stillwater.

Led by the harmonies and songwriting of Joy Mills and Tom Parker, the group is inspired by the classics of country, folk and Appalachia. Instruments include guitar, banjo, harmonica and mandolin. Aimee Zoe Tubbs and Jack Quick are on drums and bass, respectively, as well as harmony vocals.

They've received accolades from as Maverick Magazine and Americana UK, appeared live on Seattle's Audioasis (KEXP), spent eight weeks on John Richards' (KEXP) "Top Ten Northwest Bands" and shared prominent performances with the likes of Todd Snider, The Wood Brothers, The Avett Brothers, Eilen, Jewell, The Everybodyfields, Shannon McNally, Michelle Malone and numerous regional artists.

The March 2008 release of their sophomore album, "Marveling the While" followed their 2006 release of debut album "Songbook."

Jeremy Hickman & Bekkah will open the show.
