Walden's Medford office flooded by burst pipe

U.S. Rep Greg Walden's Medford office is temporarily closed today after a water main froze and broke. The burst pipe partially flooded the office, and water and heat have been turned off for the entire building at 14 N. Central Ave.

"A member of our staff got a call at home yesterday from the cleaning crew that there was water coming out of the ceiling," Communications Director Andrew Malcolm said. "We were able to get some pictures out."

Malcolm said few electronics were affected, but the office is closed for cleanup and the entire building is without water or heat. "The Medford fire department arrived and shut the water off to the whole building," Deputy Chief of Staff Colby Marshall said.

Staff from the office will be working at alternate locations until emergency maintenance is completed. Oregonians needing immediate assistance are encouraged to call Walden's office in Washington, D.C., at 202-225-6730. Walden's offices in Bend and La Grande remain open as well.
