A staged reading of a new play by a pair of Ashlanders on Saturday will benefit the campaign of Jamie McLeod-Skinner for Congress.
“Late to Love” by Susanne Severeid and Tim Kelly starts at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, in the Gresham Room at Ashland Public Library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd. The playwrights are also the performers.
The modern drama set in Ashland, Oregon, a sophisticated, progressive town of 20,000, tells the story of a mature man and woman struggling to find — one last time — the beauty and passion of youthful innocent love against the backdrop of a world that seems more cynical than idealistic.
A donation of $20 or more is suggested. Online reservations are available at bit.ly/2BXLyTV. Any unsold tickets will be available at the door.
