'And to All a Good Night'

Sometimes you never quite know how things will turn out when you say, "Yes" to a holiday party. 85-year-old Lilly Hearn, a resident of Mountain Meadows, said, "This night was my first and very special. The food was marvelous and the people very generous. Even the table settings are elegant!"

'It was the Rotary Club of Ashland's 32nd Annual Senior Christmas Dinner offered for free to the residents of foster homes and living facilities of Ashland. It was held on Wednesday at the Old Historic Ashland Armory. From the stage, Rotary President Ron Bolstad addressed the nearly 160 diners, "Thank you for accepting our invitation to be here to celebrate the holidays and all that they mean to us all. We look forward to this as one of our greatest events each year."

Holiday entertainment continued all evening with the Rotary Choral Band, the Peace Choir, the colorful Ritmo Alegre in Ballet Folk Lorico dance. Participants left in facility buses and vans only after Santa appeared, bearing gifts to all, and exclaiming, "And to all of good night!"
