'West Coast Live' headed to Ashland

"West Coast Live," National Public Radio's variety show from the Bay Area, will originate from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Angus Bowmer Theatre on Nov. 9.

The show, hosted by Sedge Thompson, features interviews with writers, musicians, actors and WCL's resident jazz musician, Mike Greensill.

The show will be a joint project of OSF and Jefferson Public Radio, which carries the show locally on its Rhythm and News Service. It will begin at 7 p.m. in the Bowmer Theatre. Outside doors will open at 6:15 p.m., and theater doors will open at 6:30.

Tickets are $25 at Paddington Station in Ashland, at www.cascadetheatre.org or by calling (530) 243-8877. Oregon Shakespeare Festival is not handling the tickets.

The show last visited in June 2003, when one of the guests was British playwright David Edgar. The Nov. 9 guests will be announced later.
