Police & fire reports July 14

Monday 11:46 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a distressed animal locked in a vehicle on Water Street. The owner of the animal was later cited and released on the power of an Oregon arrest warrant.

Monday 1:04 p.m. — Police cited and released a 30-year-old man for theft after he was caught shoplifting at Safeway.

Monday 2:43 p.m. — The City of Ashland electric department turned in three items found on Rogue Place in Ashland.

Monday 3:36 p.m. — A juvenile was caught shoplifting at Market of Choice, and was cited and released for theft.

Monday 3:42 p.m. — Three vehicles were involved in a non-injury collision on Siskiyou Boulevard near Walker Avenue. One of the drivers initially fled the scene, but he later returned and was cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured. The other drivers had their vehicles towed from the scene.

Monday 4:48 p.m. — Police cited and released a 21-year-old for unlawful manufacture of marijuana and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana during a traffic stop on Lori Lane and Glen Street. During a consent search of the vehicle, police found five bags of marijuana totaling less than an ounce, digital scales and a box of sandwich bags in a shoebox in the trunk.

Monday 8:45 p.m. — A bicyclist who ran the stop sign on High and Wimer streets was struck by a vehicle. The bicyclist was transported to Ashland Community Hospital with head and neck injuries.

Tuesday 7:07 a.m. — A citizen turned in a wallet found in the Ashland area. Police will contact the owner by mail.

Monday 11:15 a.m. — Rescuers responded to a medical emergency at the 600 block of Prim Street.

Monday 3:12 p.m. — Rescuers responded to a medical emergency at the 300 block of Mountain View Drive.

Monday 8:46 p.m. — Rescuers responded to a motor vehicle collision with injuries at Wimer Street.
