Police reports April 13

Friday 11:55 a.m. — Police picked up an abandoned black and white Trek bike on East Nevada Street and Overlook Drive. The bike is stored out back at the Ashland Police Department.

Friday 1:28 p.m. — Police found graffiti at the skate park.

Friday 3:01 p.m. — Employees at Premier West Bank discovered a counterfeit five-dollar bill in the Ashland branch located at 2235 Hwy. 66.

Friday 3:12 p.m. — Two 18-year-olds attempted to steal $176 worth of merchandise from Safeway. When store security confronted them, the 18-year-old woman was cooperative and the 18-year-old man assaulted store security in an attempt to escape. The woman was cited and released for theft and conspiracy. The man was lodged in jail for assault, harassment, theft and conspiracy.

Friday 6:56 p.m. — Two 18-year-olds were cited and released for theft after they were caught shoplifting at Safeway.

Friday 7:12 p.m. — An unknown suspect hit a parked car on Patterson Street and fled the scene. There are no suspects or leads at this time.

Friday 8:03 p.m. — Police cited and released a 44-year-old woman for theft after she walked out of Safeway with $67.86 worth of groceries that she had no intention of paying for.

Saturday 1:14 a.m. — Police transported a highly intoxicated man on the plaza to detox.

Saturday 2:29 a.m. — Police transported an intoxicated man on Will Dodge Way and Pioneer Street to detox.

Saturday 10:47 a.m. — A 35-year-old man stated that he wanted to commit suicide on North First Street. He was transported to Rogue Valley Medical Center where he voluntarily checked himself into the center's mental health ward.

Saturday 12:59 p.m. — A 19-year-old man attempted to shoplift items from Safeway.

Saturday 4:54 p.m. — Police arrested a 25-year-old for theft on Siskiyou Boulevard.

Saturday 7:32 p.m. — A man reported his 42" flat-screen TV stolen from his back yard patio on Prospect Street. There are no suspects or leads, and the case is inactive at this time.

Saturday 10:01 p.m. — A juvenile at Lithia Springs Home violated her probation and was lodged at the Jackson County juvenile detention center.

Sunday 12:02 a.m. — Police cited two 19-year-olds and an 18-year-old with minor in possession of alcohol while responding to a report of a loud party at 932 Walker Avenue.

Sunday 12:25 a.m. — A woman reported that she was harassed by a known suspect on Wightman Street. The case is under investigation.

Sunday 1:27 a.m. — Police cited a 28-year-old man and impounded his vehicle after discovering that he had a suspended license during a traffic stop on Highway 99 near Valley View.

Sunday 9:33 a.m. — Police transported a man in the Ashland area to Rogue Valley Medical Center's psychiatric care unit under a director's hold for mental evaluation.

Sunday 12:43 p.m. — Police arrested a 52-year-old woman for theft on Siskiyou Boulevard.

Sunday 6:15 p.m. — Police took a man into protective custody on High and Granite streets after he was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself.

Sunday 8:05 p.m. — Police arrested a 22-year-old man for theft on Siskiyou Boulevard.

Sunday 10:05 p.m. — Police arrested a male juvenile for theft, providing false information to a police officer and minor in possession of alcohol. The juvenile attempted to steal a hand basket filled with three bottles of wine, two six packs of beer and cheese from Safeway. When questioned by police, he gave two separate names and dates of birth in an attempt to conceal his identity. He was cited and released to his parents.

Sunday 11:02 p.m. — A missing and endangered adult was reported to police on Crestview Drive.

Sunday 11:08 p.m. — Police arrested a 19-year-old man and lodged him in jail for a warrant. The warrant was for violating his probation on the original charge of robbery.
