Police reports April 24

Thursday 8:32 a.m. — An Ashland High School student was found in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana while at school. He was cited and released to his mother.

Thursday 9:08 a.m. — Police cited and released a man for driving while his license was suspended and driving uninsured on North Main Street, and his vehicle was impounded.

Thursday 9:34 a.m. — An unknown suspect kicked the illuminated Texaco sign on Lithia Way.

Thursday 12:48 p.m. — A known juvenile shoplifted $3.98 worth of merchandise from Safeway. He was cited for theft and released to a parent.

Thursday 1:47 p.m. — Police investigated the unattended death of a 63-year-old man on North Main Street, and found nothing suspicious.

Thursday 3:43 p.m. — Police transported a man on North Main Street to detox because he was too intoxicated to care for himself. He was transported to the Moore Center in Medford, and blew a .328 BAC.

Thursday 3:57 p.m. — Police investigated a report that a woman's 11-year-old daughter had been subjected to sexual contact by a known 17-year-old male in the Ashland area. The case is currently under investigation.

Thursday 6:16 p.m. — Police cited an 18-year-old man for skateboarding without a helmet in the skate park.

Thursday 7:17 p.m. — A man reported that he found a bottle of lighter fluid on fire on a gravel alley road next to his house on Helman Street. There are currently no suspects or witnesses.

Thursday 7:34 p.m. — A woman reported that an unknown suspect burned a dried gourd on her front porch at the 400 block of Wimer Street. The case is inactive pending further information.
