An animal art fundraiser for SoHumane is coming up from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at the Ashland Art Center, 357 East Main St., Ashland.
The public is invited to “Celebrate The Year of the Dog! (and other critters!)” by viewing animal themed art by local artists, participating in children’s activities, having photos taken with a “Doggie Ambassador” and by enjoying snacks and beverages.
Admission is a donation of $10 (kids with adults attend free).

Wine will be provided by 2Hawk Vineyard and Winery with additional support provided by Market of Choice, the Ashland Food Co-op, Harry & David and Platt Anderson Cellars.
SoHumane (the Southern Oregon Humane Society) is a registered nonprofit organization dedicated to the humane treatment of companion animals, according to its website at www.sohumane.org. Mae Richardson founded the Humane Society of Jackson County in 1928 as an all-volunteer organization that initially provided services for displaced dogs and horses.
SoHumane serves approximately 1,800 companion animals annually.
