Ashland firm gets $9 million contract

An Ashland company has been awarded a U.S. Army contract worth as much as $9 million to clean up unexploded ordnance at bombing ranges.

Sky Research, 445 Dead Indian Memorial Road, will complete the work at formerly used bombing ranges scattered throughout the United States, said John Steinbergs, a company spokesman.

The contract, due to be complete July 22, 2014, allows the company to complete as much as $9 million worth of the work.
