Thomas Lee Gallery in downtown Ashland is celebrating its 800-square-foot expansion on Feb. 5, during the First Friday Art Walk from 5:30 to 9 p.m. At the event the gallery will hold a free raffle at 8:30 p.m. for a rare, framed Dr. Seuss Illustration serigraph. The Ashland Food Cooperative has partnered with COWHORN, an Applegate Valley winery, to convert used corks into compostable wine packs with a minimum of 99 percent recycled content. Corks collected at the Co-op and the Applegate Valley tasting room are sent to Corvallis-based Western Pulp. COWHORN is also recycling used wine bottles into goblets, pitchers, tumblers, vases and votives, with the help of The Green Glass Company. For more information visit
