Snowboard team needs travel funds

The Ashland High School snowboard team has qualified 22 snowboarders for state this year! From March 9 to 13, these young women and men will attempt to add to our back-to-back state championships the previous two years.

Unfortunately, due to drastic price increases in bus fare, lodging, and lift tickets, the cost per snowboarder has risen from $150 last year to $350 this year. This is quite a jump and could potentially prevent several of these competitors from attending the championships.

The short span of time before state prevents any realistic fundraising options. As president of the snowboard team, I am requesting that you consider donating to help send these competitors on to state. No amount is too small and would be greatly appreciated.

If you or your company can help us, please contact head coach Travis Caldwell (503-784-7653) or myself (541-301-1407) as soon as possible. Thank you and go Grizz. On to state!

Mike Schilling
