Planners talk Granite St. proposal

The Planning Commission will decide tonight whether to allow property owners Ron Rusnak and Lisa Zingarelli-Rusnak to demolish their house on Granite Street and build a new one on their lot.

The proposal for 514 Granite St. is going before the commission because development — the main house, a guest house, shed, driveway, patio and parking area — already covers 19 percent of the 0.61 acre lot, when only 7 percent is typically allowed in the neighborhood, which is located in the Woodland Residential zoning district.

City staff members are recommending that the commission approve the project, with several conditions the homeowners must adhere to.

After the Granite Street proposal, the commission will discuss proposed changes to the city's public meeting rules and the Croman Mill Plan.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Civic Center City Council Chambers, 1175 E. Main St.
