Ways and Means Committee to visit Ashland April 30

SALEM — The Oregon State Legislature's Joint Ways and Means Committee will visit Ashland on April 30th as the seventh stop in a eight city town hall tour including Lincoln City, Portland, Salem, Pendleton, Ontario, Bend and Eugene.

The public hearing will be held at Southern Oregon University in the Rogue River Room of Stevenson Union from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Senator Alan Bates, along with other Ways and Means committee members will be in attendance to discuss the state's budget issues and listen to community members' concerns.

At the public hearing, attendees will receive a survey instrument, allowing them to voice choices about proposed service cuts, potential revenue increases and other critical budget issues.

"All Oregonians deserve a voice," Bates said. "I look forward to hearing from my constituents about which services are important to them at a time when the state is facing deep budget cuts."
