Medford police are investigating after a man was found dead Sunday afternoon in Bear Creek just south of Barnett Road, according to a news release.
Police found the body in the creek “a short distance from the shoreline” after a resident flagged down Medford Police officers about 2:30 p.m., the release said.
Medford Fire-Rescue personnel recovered the body from the water.
Police and the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s office are asking the public to help identify the man, described as unknown race or age. He was wearing a black “Raiders” T-shirt and blue shorts with no socks or shoes. He is believed to be 5-foot-6 to 6 feet tall, possibly with short brown hair. The man was believed to have been in the creek for less than a week, police said.
