Public invited to say what they want in Japanese Garden plans

The public is invited to give their input on plans for renovation and expansion of the Japanese Garden in Lithia Park at a special meeting of the Ashland Parks and Recreation Commission from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Senior Center, 1699 Homes Ave.

Due to generous donations, the Japanese Garden in Lithia Park is getting a full reconstruction planned by renowned Japanese Garden designer Toru Tanaka. Although the design has more or less been determined, it is the donors’ wish to incorporate the community’s ideas as much as possible and listen to all concerns, according to parks’ meeting announcement.
