The new voter registration deadline for the March 13 city of Ashland recall election is Tuesday, Feb. 20, for people registering to vote in Oregon for the first time. Only voters in the city of Ashland will be voting in this election.
Ashland Parks and Recreation Commissioners Jim Lewis, Mike Gardiner and Rick Landt are subjects of a recall effort after the parks commission unanimously approved in August a reorganization that resulted in the dismissal of former Senior Center manager, Chris Dodson.
Anyone currently registered to vote in the state of Oregon, who has moved or changed his or her mailing address or name will also need to update their registration. Ballots cannot be forwarded.
Voter registration and updates can be completed online at www.oregonvotes.gov. Voter registration is also automatically updated at the department of motor vehicles (DMV) if anyone initiate updates on their Oregon-issued driver’s license or ID card.
To register in person or ask questions regarding voter registration status, go to 1101 W. Main St., Suite 201, Medford, or call the elections office at 541-774-6148.
