Charles H. Bloomingcamp

Charles H. Bloomingcamp, 94 ½, of Ashland, Ore., passed away June 22, 2012. He was born in Hornbrook, Calif., December 30, 1917, to Fred and Minnie Bloomingcamp. After graduating high school in Yreka, Calif., he went to work for Fruit Growers Supply in Hilt, Calif., as a carpenter. He moved to Ashland in 1968 and was a carpenter for the Ashland School District until he retired.

One of Charles' loves and interests was building furniture including dressers, bookcases, a lodge pole bed, and other beautiful items. Most family members have at least one of his creations.

He leaves behind a loving family, his sister, Berniece B. Wyatt; nieces, Janet Cavin, Karen Snyder and her husband, Steve, Teresa Mott and her husband, Gene; nephews, Vic Snyder and his wife, Betsy, Steve Wyatt and his wife, Kathy, and Paul Wyatt; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Although he was a bachelor all his life, he adopted a loving family of four who moved in across the street from Charles in 1974. He had the opportunity to be father to Chris Robbins and his wife, Holly, Lynn Nilsen and her husband, John, and Janet Turk and her husband, Tim. He also got to be a Grandfather to eight grand children.

A memorial service will be held at Ashland Gracepoint Nazarene Church, 1760 East Main Street, Ashland, Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a graveside service at the Hornbrook Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Viewing will be Friday, June 29, 5:00 7:00 p.m., at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, 1811 Ashland Street, Ashland, Ore.
