Ruth Bell McCloud, 77, of Talent Ore., passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 18, 2011, surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with kidney failure.
Ruth was a native of the Rogue valley, born in Medford in 1933, to Elsie and Otis Garrett. She was raised on a dairy farm in Talent. After graduating from Talent High School in the class of 1952, she moved to Ashland to work for a finance company. In 1962, she married Walter McCloud. They lived happily for 14 years until Walter died in 1976. They had one daughter that Ruth raised with her mother after Walter passed away. Ruth worked at the Ashland Ranger Station from 1975 until she retired in 1997.
Ruth had a love of nature, gardening, dogs, books, camping, and family gatherings. Her most recent love was for her six year old grandson and spending her last years in rural Talent.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband and two older brothers.
She is survived by daughter, Willow Nauth; son-in-law, Aaron Nauth; grandson, Ryon; and a large extended family that will miss her dearly.
