William Taft Chaffey

William Taft Chaffey died October 16, 2010, at his home in Sacramento, Calif. He was born June 25, 1929, in Los Angeles, Calif. He earned degrees in forestry from the University of Connecticut and social work from University of California, San Diego. He had a successful career as a clinical social worker in Yreka, Calif., for many years and retired to private practice in Ashland, Ore., in 1985.

William was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission working with LDS Employment Services in White City, Ore.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa; son, Eric; stepdaughters, Leslie Colby and Karin Nowell; and brothers, John Chaffey and Benjamin Chaffey.

A memorial service is planned for Friday, November 5, 2010, at 12:00 p.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 111 Clay Street, Ashland, OR. Cremation services provided by Sacramento Cremation Society.
