Ashland Boy Scout Troop 112 will collect Christmas Trees Saturday, Jan. 5, and recycle them into wood chips for Ashland city parks.
They ask that trees be placed by the curb Friday evening. Troop 112 and its sponsor, the Ashland Lions Club, collect the trees, and then the Ashland Parks and Recreation Commission chips the trees into mulch.
For the 33rd year, “This project benefits the citizens of Ashland, the Boy Scouts of Troop 12 and the environment turning hundreds of trees into mulch enhances our parks while sparing our landfills,” according to a news release.
Donations for the service are accepted in the form of checks made out to Troop 112, P.O. Box 839, Ashland OR 97520.
This service is only for Ashland residents. If a tree is missed, call John Ourant at 541-708-3942.
