Attention Tidings subscribers: As part of the ongoing transition to local ownership, we need to ask customers to update their online banking bill pay information when making payments to the Mail Tribune and Ashland Tidings.
Every customer has a new account number. The post office box to which payments are sent is also different.
All banks who offer their customers online bill pay actually issue and mail us paper checks that have to be processed. We do not receive any payments electronically.
Not having updated information on payments will cause their payments to go to an incorrect address, meaning customers will have to bring in proof of payment from their banks to receive credit. We must have a copy of the front and back of the canceled check to find out where the payment was posted.
Even just having the wrong account number on payments can cause delays of several weeks.
