Ashland Community Hospital wound center receives award

The Ashland Community Hospital Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine has been recognized as one of the elite care centers in the western United States by Diversified Clinical Services, a nationwide network of more than 325 wound care centers.

The ACH center received the Diversified Clinical Services Center of Distinction and Robert A. Warriner III, M.D. Awards by delivering outstanding wound healing results for 24 consecutive months during 2009-10.

In order to earn the award, a wound center must achieve a patient satisfaction score of greater than 90 percent, a days-to-heal rate of less than 30 days, and a healing outcome of greater than 89 percent.

The Ashland center surpassed those benchmarks, achieving an average patient satisfaction score of 97 percent, an average days-to-heal rate of 27 days and an average healing outcome of 94 percent.

The fact that the Center maintained those levels for 24 consecutive months earned it additional distinction as a Robert A. Warriner III, M.D. Award winner.
