Killers still free
“We seek justice, because the victims cannot,” has been our motto and encapsulates Wings-Of-Justice efforts for victims of crime.
On Sept. 4, 2008, Dave Lewis was viciously, brutally murdered and his cabin arsoned, his body within. No culprits arrested, no justice.
Always thankful to detectives and first responders, but that does not change the crime. Lewis was a great guy. Gregarious, hardworking, opinionated, kind, humorous. A loving uncle and father to three sons. Dave could tell a tale of fishing Hyatt lake and was gifted in memory. His friends called him, “The Keeper of the Mountain.”
When and where Dave was murdered is unknown. His home and body, which looked like charred driftwood, with no arms or legs, was gruesomely found on Dead Indian Memorial Road, Ashland. A minimum of four evidence sites. Troy Carney, traveling with truckers, was found killed. Arrests and justice, would be fair redress for these crime victims. What sorrow that soul sick criminal individuals and their cohorts create. How do they rise and fall, in daily living, and have no guilty conscience?
Nothing will bring David back. His sons have become men. His family continues to mourn the loss of a great guy who spoke truth to power, revealed and rose up against evil, profoundly stood for what he believed in, and has left his blood on another’s guilty, unclean hands. Killers walk free, vicious and remorseless.
