Ashland City Band

The 70-piece Ashland City Band, under the direction of Don Bieghler, will present free hour-long concerts Thursdays through Aug. 14 at the Butler Band Shell in Lithia Park, Ashland.

This week's performance on Thursday, July 24, will feature pre-concert entertainment by the Southern Oregon Jazz Orchestra at 6:40 p.m.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and will include:

"Strike Up The Band" by George and Ira Gershwin; arranged by Wayne Pegram

"The Star Spangled Banner" arranged by John Philip Sousa; vocalist, Diane Hedges

"Officer of the Day" by R. B. Hall "Czech Masters Suite" arranged by Philip Gordon "Persuasion" by Sammy Nestico; Angel McDonald, alto saxophone, Cynthia Hutton, conductor "Entry March of the Boyares" by Johan Halvorsen "Norwegian Folk Rhapsody" by Arlin Snesrud "The Typewriter" by Leroy Anderson; arranged Floyd Werle "Zacatecas" (for Las Estudiantinas, Guanajuato, Mexico) by Genaro Codina "Star Above, Shine Brightly" by Brian Balmages "Crazy For You" by George and Ira Gershwin; arranged by Jerry Brubaker "Golden Jubilee" by John Philip Sousa
