This musical uses the premise of a mysterious performance troupe, led by a Leading Player, to tell the story of Pippin, a young prince on his search for meaning and significance. “Pippin” won Tony Awards in all categories in 1973 when it intentionally broke away from time periods and familiarity of the fourth wall. The play opens Friday, July 20, at Randall Theatre, 10 E. Third St., Medford, and runs through Aug. 11. Robin Downward directs. Tickets are $22 for reserved seats, $17 on Thursdays, and can be purchased at randalltheatre.com or by calling 541-632-3258.
