Royal Blues Band

Local blues veterans Tom Stamper, David Pinsky, Gary Halliburton, Robbie DaCosta and Jeff Addicott bring back their long-retired Royal Blues Band for a one-night, reunion show.

The show will be at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at Alex's Plaza Restaurant and Bar, 35 N. Main St., Ashland.

The Royal Blues Band formed in 1996 and played regular, Monday-night gigs at Alex's for about two years before its members went their separate ways.

The band's repertoire was firmly rooted in the Crescent City Movement, featuring early-'60s, New Orleans-style rock 'n' roll and blues. It frequently drew songs from "Mr. Joe's Jambalaya," a compilation of covers by The Neville Brothers, Professor Longhair, Allen Toussaint, Dr. John and others.

The cover to the show is $5. Call 541-482-8818.
